INTRODUCTION ​

Hey everyone! Long story short: this is a crossover project featuring Pokémon, Etrian Odyssey and Made in Abyss.
It's a dungeon-crawler with a story-driven focus, but don't worry, you don't need to be familiar with Etrian Odyssey or Made in Abyss to enjoy the game to the fullest!

STORY

On an island in the middle of the sea stands a massive maze knows as the "Yggdrasil Labyrinth", which has been attracting adventurers from all over the world for years.
No one knows how deep it goes, or if there's anything at its end.
Some say there's a treasure of immeasurable value hidden within, while others claim the remnants of a lost civilization lie there.
In the game you'll play as Nyx, a young adventurer who joins the guild of Talrega with the goal of unraveling the Labyrinth's mysteries.
But something goes terribly wrong…

NYX

INTRODUCTION

Hello people! Long story short: this is a crossover project between Pokémon, Made in Abyss and Etrian Odyssey.
It's a sort of dungeon-crawler story-driven, but you don't need to know anything about Etrian Odyssey or Made in Abyss in order to fully enjoy this game!

STORY

On the island of Talrega lies the entrance of the Yggdrasil labyrinth, a gigantic maze full of treasures that has attracted the attention of adventurers all around the world.
What are you looking for? Money? Fame? Or do you just want to test your trainer skills by tackling the maze?
Is there something deep down?
In this game you'll play as Nyx, a young adventurer that wants to challenge the labyrinth.
But as soon as she starts descending, something goes wrong...

DOWNLOAD

You'll need NUPS and a clean 1636 - Pokémon Fire Red (U)(Squirrels) rom.
It is also recommended to use mGBA 0.9.2 or mGBA 0.10.0 (or its newest version) on PC and Lemuroid or RetroArch with the mGBA core on Android devices.
Beta v1.6 ends at the beginning of the Third Stratum.

Hello hello! Version 2.6 is out, so I updated the initial post.
This huge mid-version update is focused around world expansion and QoL improvements, so you won't be able to continue the main story, but you'll be able to do a lot of secondary things, like capture the new regional forms or explore the new islands!

I like your rom, it seems very well taken care of in all aspects, although if I am going to comment certain recommendations that are totally personal and you as the creator of the rom may or may not take them into account.

When you are introduced to the characters Nyx and Aimée, you could add the respective Trainer Sprite, so that the player has a more visual reference of who he is meeting.

I have seen that the Exp. Share is always enabled, you could give the player an option to disable it, there are many people who don't like it. Personally I don't mind it being active, but you could give a key item to the player so that if he doesn't like it or wants to have another type of experience he can deactivate it at any time.

I have also seen that when pressing the L, the player starts running automatically as it happened in HGSS, you could add a message so that the player knows at all times that when pressing that key, the player starts running automatically.

I love that all the OW have their PSS Icon, it is a detail that makes the game look very well cared for and you can see the effort and care that you have put, a 10/10 for it.

The Wonder Trade is a bit OP, you should make it cost money, or some item or ticket that the user can exchange for a wonder trade.

I really like the design of the maps, everything is well cared for and the shortcuts system seems very interesting and original to me.

I've only played up to the first leader, because honestly I'm tired of the fact that it's always double fights.

I think your rom has a lot of potential and you take care of the details, the story is entertaining, with twists and turns and funny moments.

I hope to see more updates over time.

Me gusta probar las roms para dar un poco de retroalimentación, así que eso es lo que hice.

Me gusta tu rom, parece muy bien cuidada en todos los aspectos, aunque si que voy a comentarte ciertas recomendaciones que son totalmente personales y tú como creador de la rom puedes o no tenerlas en cuenta.

Cuando se te presentan los personajes de Nyx y Aimée, podrías añadir el respectivo Trainer Sprite, para que el jugador tenga una referencia más visual de a quién está conociendo.

He visto que el Repartir Experiencia está siempre activado, podrías darle una opción al jugador para desactivarlo, hay muchas personas a las que no les gusta. Personalmente no me importa que esté activo , pero podrías darle un objeto clave al jugador para que si no le gusta o quiere tener otro tipo de experiencia pueda desactivarlo en cualquier momento.

También he visto que al pulsar la L, el jugador pasa a correr automáticamente como pasaba en el HGSS, podrías añadir un mensaje para que el jugador sepa en todo momento que al pulsar esa tecla, pase a correr automáticamente.

Me encanta que todos los OW tengan su PSS Icon, es un detalle que hace que el juego se vea muy bien cuidado y se vea el empeño y mimo que le has puesto, un 10/10 por ello.

El Wonder Trade está un poco OP, deberías hacerlo que cueste dinero, o algún item o ticket que el usuario pueda cambiar por un wonder trade.

El diseño de los mapas me gusta mucho, todo está bien cuidado y el sistema de atajos me parece muy interesante y original.

Solo he jugado hasta el primer líder, porque sinceramente me cansa el hecho de que siempre sean combates dobles.

Creo que tu rom tiene mucho potencial y que cuidas mucho los detalles, la historia es entretenida, con giros y momentos divertidos.

Espero ver más actualizaciones con el tiempo.

I want it to be permanently activated for 2 main reasons:

• My main purpose was to reduce grinding as much as possible, both from Exp and Nature/Ev/Iv side;
• A soft level cap is always active, so I don't see why I should add the option to remove EXP-All.

I thought about it for a second during the early development, but I find it pretty grindy. I want players to have an enoyable experience and be able to pick their favourite Pokémon as soon as possible. The Wonder Trade System is also a replacement for the Guild Creation in Etrian Odyssey.

We're planning to release Beta 3.0 by the end of June/beginning of July, here's what we accomplished so far:

► FIFTH STRATUM: ABYSSAL SHRINE

Welcome to the Sixth Stratum: Frozen Grounds, the last playable stratum of Beta 3.0!





► BYE BYE, FREEZE! SAY HELLO TO FROSTBITE!

We can all agree that Freeze is a garbage status condition, so we decided to change it and use Frostbite instead.
Frostbite is a status condition from PLA. Similar to a burn, Frostbite inflicts damage equal to 1/16 of the target's maximum HP every turn. Pokémon with Magma Armor, as well as Ice-type Pokémon are immune to this status. You can't inflict Frostbite in harsh sunlight.
Frostbite will decrease the target's Special Attack by 50%.

► BEFORE STARTING YOUR PLAYTHROUGH...

When starting a new game, you'll receive information about recommended emulators and what's going to happen if you don't use one of these.




► GAME NOTIFICATIONS

You'll receive a notification whenever a Stratum is cleared, a level cap is increased etc etc



► A NEW POKÉMON TYPE: AETHER!

Yggdrasil's power radically changed some Pokémon, causing them to acquire the Aether type

• Resistances: Fire, Water, Ground, Flying, Aether.
• Weaknesses: Dark, Poison.
• Effectiveness: Neutral matchup against everything but Aether.

In any case, I present to you Etrian Gardevoir (Psychic/Aether) and Etrian Dusknoir (Ghost/Aether)




Each Aether-type Pokémon will receive a signature move:

• Ad Nihilo (Special) - Gardevoir
  90 BP, 100% accuracy, 5 PP
  Effect: Resets all stat levels of the target to 0.
• Soul Trade (Physical) - Dusknoir
  85 BP, 100% accuracy, 10 PP
  Effect: Restores HP up to 50% of the damage dealt.

Some new regional variants, as well as old Pokémon like Castform, Chimecho, Solrock, Lunatone and many others will get the Aether type and a signature move.
